How it works
A rectangular room is length × width. If you draw the outline instead, the floor area comes from the polygon you drew and the walls from its perimeter × height, minus the doors and windows at standard sizes. Paint uses the coverage on the can and the number of coats; floor tiles use the tile size with a 3 mm grout gap and 10% cutting waste.
The 3D view is a planning aid, not a design tool: openings are placed evenly along the walls and the colours are flat. It is there so you can check the proportions and the colour combination before buying.
Prices are optional. Enter what your supplier charges per litre of paint and per square metre of tile and the totals appear in your currency. Labour, adhesive, grout and primer are not included yet.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I plan a whole apartment or house?
- Yes. Switch to Rooms, add a room for each space (living room, bedroom, hallway), drag them into place on the plan and the totals cover the whole home, with a per-room table. Use Draw outline for a single room with an odd shape.
- Do the door and window sizes matter?
- They change the wall area you paint. The planner uses 0.9 × 2.1 m doors and 1.2 × 1.0 m windows, which are typical; if yours differ a lot, adjust the wall height or use the paint calculator with the exact opening area.
- Why is the 3D view empty or slow?
- It needs WebGL, which every current browser has. On old devices or with hardware acceleration switched off it may not render; the figures still work without it.
